Date & Venue: 2 - 4 December 2010
Inspiration Hall, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre

21 - 31 December 2010
Exhibition Gallery, Hong Kong Central Library
Exhibition Planner: Hong Kong Design Centre (Ms. Amy Chow)
Designers / Joint Curators: Dr. Kan Tai-keung (Hong Kong), Katsumi Asaba (Japan), Chen Jun-liang (Taipei), Han Jia-ying (Shenzhen)

Four designers are invited to be the co-curators of the exhibition, and they come from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Japan. The four designers, with their different backgrounds and cultures, will create new works with their interpretations of Master Tong Yang-tze's Chinese calligraphy series, X beyond O. "Nothing" becomes "something" in the creative process, and an entire exhibition of Ink and Design will arise. Chinese calligraphy does not only manifest itself on paper, but it takes on a life of its own and takes existence in a totally new dimension.

The four curators will collect items of contemporary design-related objects on Chinese calligraphy from their native land and create a multimedia experience of different cultures with about eighty 2D and 3D items from our contemporary life. From that, we could see how different cultures generate different creative products.
