Suitably described by her profound experience in the business and promotion of fashion, Yayoi Suzuki is President of Kenzo Takada co. Ltd., as well as the founder of Pas à Pas, a company that manages public relations activities for European fashion and lifestyle brands.

Born in the Setagaya Ward of Tokyo, Suzuki studied at the Sorbonne and the Institute Catholique in Paris. Shortly after completing her studies, Suzuki garnered her diverse experience in fashion by working at SBA Co. Ltd., French Fashion Centre Co. Ltd., and Fédération Française du Prêt-à-Porter féminin Japon . In 1982, she enrolled in a stylist course at the SUN Design Institute.

In 1983, Suzuki joined ELLCA Co. Ltd., where she primarily worked in sales promotions, advertisements, and its pressroom. Subsequent to leaving ELLCA in 1990, she established the Pas à Pas Co., Ltd., to manage public relations activities for European fashion brands. The company has since expanded its business model to include a strategic focus on lifestyle brands. In 1997, she won the N.F.K. Award. In anticipation of a joint business venture with partner Kenzo Takada, Suzuki established the KENZO TAKADA Co.,Ltd. in 2000, where she currently serves as President. This year (2010), Pas à Pas’s PR department will be re-christened as C'est chouettes Co., Ltd., with a consultancy and creative department soon to follow.
